Business Challenge and Objectives: Being an electrical product wholesaler, EDI had unique demands concerning the pricing and distribution of its merchandise. Therefore, the company required a highly customized solution which could link specific categories of clients with respectively selective product offers and pricing schemes. This was no small task, especially when considering the volume of its product inventory as well as the variety of its client base.
Implementation: After sitting down and discussing potential approaches, Cascade Web Development began the initial stages of the Strategy Phase which was designed to be time sensitive while completely satisfying the needs of its client. Initially, the execution of the Strategy Phase led to the creation of client-specific wireframes, technical documentation, and a comprehensive production schedule. Plans were also sent in motion to build the solution around the creation of two key modules: the Products module and the Profile Manager module.
Results: The demands of EDI were highly specific and unique to their situation. They required a semi-automatic system which would distribute a range of pricing scheme privileges to a portfolio of unique customers. With the creation of the Products Module and the Profile Manager, these needs were satisfied and EDI has since experienced abolsute improvements in ROI and business efficiency.
